Alek Darson discovered passion for music in his hometown of Belgrade, Serbia when he picked up his mom's old nylon string guitar at age of 10. He's always been drawn to aggressive, melodic, and emotional music and now moves easily between the roles of virtuoso guitarist and producer.

His playing had a strong impact on his colleagues, leading to performances with numerous renowned Serbian artists, including frequent tours, TV shows, and videos. But his dream has always been to build a strong stage name, and share his musical thoughts with the world in the most direct way.

An alumnus of Belgrade’s VISER College and Berklee College of music, Darson recently released his debut EP Panopticon, which he composed, performed, edited, and produced. Overall impressions about Alek’s music are best described by a quote from his own musical hero:

"Alek has a unique approach and sound. His music and guitar playing are incredible."

Alek's music is a result of a constant aesthetic curiosity, scholastic musical research, and a synergy of European cultural background and American music education. Alek takes music very seriously and doesn’t believe in creative blocks, summoning the muses, or other "excuses" for not constantly working on art. His days are mostly spent in his recording studio composing and producing his next project; this same dedication brought him a fruitful debut EP and a prosperous 2014.

His current focus is on creating fresh guitar-driven music for his new release, and finding innovative ways to contribute to other progressive rock/metal/fusion projects as a guitarist, arranger, or producer.
